Mod Page
So, you decided to drop in here?
First, I'll explain a bit what MOD's and tracked music really is. It's a really efficient way to make small musicfiles by using the same samples over and over again, ex one bassdrum sample, one snardrumsample. Of course you can pitchshift the samples. Would be a little hard if you had to have one sample for each note. It's mainly used in the PC-world, haven't seen a lot of 'em in the MAC-world.
To play these MOD's (can have other file format's as XM, S3m, NST etc but MOD was the first.) you have to have a player or a tracker, that's the programs in wich you make the MOD's
Players and Trackers
Cubic Player v1.7 (329K)
- Probobly the best player available. Can handle virtually any format, even MIDI with the GUS-Patches. Works comfortably under WIN/95 and OS/2.
Fasttracker 2 (272K)
- The absolute best Tracker around. Got all the functions you can imagine + a lot more! Recommended if you want to start making MOD's seriosly.
Scream Tracker v3.2 (159K)
- Technicly surpassed by Fasttracker II, it's still the best alternative for beginners. Easy to use and it's even Public Domain!
Zerius Sound System (83K)
- The best player for MACINTOSH. Handle's MOD, S3M, MTM and some other formats. Works with both 68k (atleast 020) and PPC macs.
Chankie's XM's
All XM's are packed with PKZIP, alt ZIPIT for Mac-users.
Magnetic Distortion 153K
- My second XM. Style? Don't know really. I'd like to steal an expression from Scooter and call it 'Happy Hardcore'
Human Race Gold Remix 216K
- A soft synthetic tune. In my opinion my very best. It's worth a download, I promise.
Progression 230K
- Hmm, don't know. Soft techno with an occasional touch of strings.
I'm also a part of a group called 'Digital Shadows' so why don't you check that page out.
