ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO
THE DEN OF THE SMILIN' COYOTE

This site is devoted to my experiences in exploring my new home state - New Mexico. There's UFO's and caves and desert and trees (yes, trees!) and chili peppers and books and lots of other stuff here. Won't you please explore it with me?

I have seen photographs like this one in magazines and books and said "Yeah right! That's a lot of filters and special effects." Well, I was wrong! I took this picture with a point and shoot camera (no filters, etc.) from the front of my house. I wish the telephone pole hadn't been there, but I was happily surprised with the photo. Hope you like this beautiful New Mexican winter sunset!

In December, it snowed about 6 inches, although the newspaper said it was hard to measure because it kept melting! Here's proof. Can you see the little birds in the tree in the second photo? They're waiting for their turn at the bird feeder!

And lastly, here is a photo of my pets - Gonzo and Spock. Gonzo is a Blue-front Amazon Parrot who is about 15 years old (young by parrot standards) and talks a lot. Spock is a Flame-point Siamese, which is a fancy way of saying that he is a mixture of Siamese and orange tabby! He is almost a year old and loves to sleep on top of Gonzo's cage. Gonzo doesn't mind most of the time. He just likes to pull out a hair or two from Spock's tail. And he squawks whenever Spock switches it!
