Keltor and Loreena: The first king and queen of the planet they discovered, Namoria.
Keltor- Once like his war like drule ancestors, he was a warrior who conqured in the name of the Drule Empire believing he was preserving the future of his people through expansion. But when the cost of war became too much, he begins to realize that he is not preserving the future of his people, but ensuring it's eventual demise. In changing his views he made many enemies flees from the very empire that once held his loyalty. Many drules hold to Keltor's new found beliefs and opt to leave with him in hopes of a more peaceful existance and flee the unending war that has taken so many of their bretheren.
Loreena- A young drule princess from one of the more powerful but war like families becomes Keltor's queen. Like Keltor, she has tired of seeing her kind relentlessly slaughtered in war for the expansion of the empire. She also feels anger at the countless number of innocent lives ruined through slavery and death. Her family has forbidden her to be with Keltor because his views are treasonistic toward the empire. Regardless, she vows that her heart will belong to no other man but Keltor. She flees with him and many other drules who share his views of a more peaceful existance away from the empire.
Namoria-The planet founded by those fleeing the persecution of the Drule Empire. Named for Loreena's youngest sister Namora, who aided her older sister in escaping from her family to be with Keltor. She was capture, and despite being a blood member of their family, she is tortured and executed for treason against the empire. It was one of what would be several tragic events in Loreena's life.
Danzar-One of the sons of Keltor. He shares his father's beliefs in peaceful coexistance with other worlds instead of dominating them. He is one of several sons and daughters of the Namorian king and queen. He is also one of six who survive an impending massecre of the royal family. One of his older brothers, Zarkon, seeks to undo all that his father Keltor has sought to create. The same Zarkon who would become one of the most powerful kings in the Drule Empire and take not only the lives of many in the royal family, but steal something very precious to Danzar himself.
Leena-Danzar's only daughter. When most of the royal family are slaughtered by Zarkon's minions, four babies are hidden deep within the bowles of the palace in order to protect them. Leena is one of those four babies who escapes death. When her father Danzar, the reigning king of Namoria is captured by Zarkon, she must become the leader to her people.
The other three surviving children of the Namorian family massacre, cousins Avian, Genar and Kezrin. They are the children of two of Keltor's sons and one of his daughters.
Avian- The oldest and most volatile of the three cousins. He is unique among drules. While many are hybrids looking more human in appearence than others, Avian does not exibit the typical drule hybrid appearence. Typical drule hybrids tend to have blue skin, gold cat like eyes and pointed ears. Avian does have drule eyes and ears, but his skin is that of a human. His mother was also a drule hybrid, but his father was from Earth. Having landed on Namoria after experiencing trouble with his ship, he is taken in by Keltor and his heirs. One of his two daughters grows close to him and they end up having a son, which they name Avian. He tends to have quite a temper and that often gets him into trouble, and a lot of fights. Many of which he wins. He has a chip on his shoulder perhaps because even among drule hybrids he feels like an outsider, always feeling he has something to prove. His favorite weapon is a lazer gun left to him by his father.
Genar-The second oldest of the cousins, he is far removed from the war like ways of his ancestors. Prefering to solve tense situations with words instead of violence, he does not let his anger boil over easily. When bothered, he prefers more spiritual methods of clearing his mind and is sometimes found in solitary meditation. But when caught in a situation where there is no peaceful resolution, Genar will fight as a last resort. Though he does not take any joy in killing, if given no other choice, he will use his skills in martial arts to lethal affect. He is a typical druel in appearence with blue skin, gold cat eyes and pointed ears. He has long deep garnet colored hair that has a deep red flare when exposed to the sun. His weapons of choice are two long pointed daggers with upturned handles. They are a version of Earth martial art weapons known as tsais.
Kezrin-The youngest cousin, Kezrin was the last of the cousins to be born before the palace massacre. As he grew his guardians realized he had powers that made him unique among his kin. He is endowed with unique powers including foresight, telekenesis and the ability to manipulate energy. He has the ability to create a shield of his own energy to protect himself and anyone else who stands with him. Haggar learns he has survived the slaughter of his family and also of his powers. She decides to take his powers for her own and to eliminate him as a threat to Zarkon. She challenges him to a duel with the winner taking the powers of the other. But she has no intention of keeping her word when Kezrin, as young as he is, defeats the witch. She continues to do battle draining him of his power so that he can no longer defend himself. But with one huge burst of energy, Kezrin defeats Haggar driving her away to nurse her wounds. The cost to Kezrin is also high. Because he has eghausted himself to the point of death, he must go into a form of hybernation to allow his body to heal from the massive surge he used to defeat Haggar. It takes him not days or weeks, but over a year to recover fully. When he does awaken, he has only one personal goal...take out Haggar for good. His weapons are two half circular hand held blades with curved leather handles.
Kaladan-A loner and rogue, he once fought under Zarkon's banner. Believing in the king's reteric that the Druel were meant to rule the universe and have dominace over all others, he served as high commander of the king's army while his son Lotor was away on a mission of conquest in his father's name. He led the Zarkon's troops to other worlds seeking to take over civilizations and make them part of the Druel empire. At first he wholeheartedly believes what he is doing is for the good of the empire, but when he sees the unending cruelty and evil against the people he has been sent to conqure he begins to wonder just whose side he should really be on. His choice is made when he sees a young woman about to be raped by his guards and he breaks up the fracus before it can begin. But when the guards won't back down he uses deadly force to get his point across. The surviving guards flee and tell the king of what has happened. Kaladan knowing he will be seen as a traitor decides he will fight against Zarkon from now on. He also falls in love with the young woman he rescues, named Selena. For a year Kaladan leads the people he once came to enslave in rebellion against Zarkon. Several raids to free slaves are successful, until one night when a trap is set. Kaladan is captured and those he fought along side are again forced into slavery. The ring leaders are executed for their role, but the worst is reserved for Kaladan himself. While he is bound and chained, he is forced to watch while Selena is systematically raped to death. Then Kaladan is beaten and tortured. He is taken to planet Taebos. Thinking he will not survive, Zarkon gives Kaladan no more thought and moves on. Kaladan, however; does not die but clings to life. He becomes a pit fighter quickly gaining a reptutation as The Blood Lord because the blood of his victims paints the walls of the pit. His favorite victims are druel guards who have the misfortune to end up on Taebos. While all his victims meet bloody ends, it is toward Zarkon's guards that he shows absolutely no mercy, often lopping off their heads and holding them up for the crowds to see.
