Here is all of the dimension information I used in constructing the Control Panel. Start off with the board from the Materials page. the first step is to cut it up like illustrated below. The middle portion becomes the top and the two ends will become the sides. There are two small scrap pieces as well. Click on the titles to download Bitmap images of the pics.

After cutting up the raw board from above, the next step is to blast all the holes for mounting the controls. Here are the dimensions for all the holes for mounting the controls on the top panel. The board is the center piece from above. I would recommend using a    1 1/8" boring bit for the holes for the pushbuttons.

The last step is to drill holes in the side panels for mounting them to the top. Do this to both of the end pieces that are a result of the first step.

When everything is cut and drilled. All you have to do is mount the two sides to the top. Lay the top panel face down, line up the ends on each side and secure them with the wood screws. The good thing about this layout is that the only exposed wood will be hidden. The sides will cover the ends of the top panel, and the two sides end up sitting on your desk or table. The framework of the panel is now complete.
