Ron Quinton had the choice of five rides in the 1985 Golden Slipper and decided on Rory's Jester when he drew barrier 3.  Rory's Jester travelled comfortably for Quinton and when the leaders began to weaken a gap presented itself and Rory's Jester went through to win the race.   He raced 17 times for 7 wins and 6 seconds.  He entered stud in 1986 and has been a prolific sire of winners.
