This version is not to be confused with FOXs new Alien3 Special Edition. This is an actual workprint of the movie. This version is now being called the PRODUCED version. DVD FILE QUOTES, that this version is the version that should have been the version included in the Quadrilogy boxset. Scenes include a whole backstory of actually capturing the Alien. This is by far a superior version to the Special Edition, the added footge in the Special Edition adds to much, this version adds just the right additions.

This is a rare network televsion version which features:
* Fire Fighters visting a widowed Fire Fighters wife.
* Jennifer Jason Leigh actually quits her job at the end .
* Stephen has an emotinal scene with Rimgale over the fire where TIm was burned.
