Keri DeLuca was working as a magician's assistant when al-Qaeda
terrorists attacked New York City in 2001. Her boss and mentor was among
the victims, as he was meeting with his stockbroker at the World Trade
Center when the planes slammed into the towers. It was one deadly situatiion
he was unable to escape from and he became one of the thousands of victoms
whom the American establishment would like to forget even existed.
Keri wanted to do her part to fight back against the terrorists but had made a deathbed promise to her mother that she would never use guns (which ruled out joining the military). For a time, she put on magic shows to raise money for the Red Cross, wrote articles on her website countering the claims that America and the WTC victims somehow derserved to be attacked by al-Qaeda, and in general worked to direct public sentiment in support of the American way of life and values.
One night after completing a show, she saw a newsbrief about the patriotic superhero Liberty Girl and inspiration struck. Keri would also become a superhero. She become everything the Islamic terrorists feared and hated--a strong, independent woman who gets in their bearded faces and kicks their asses every which way while showing as much naked flesh as possible without violating American standards of modesty. To strike even more fear in their hearts, she made what little cloth makes up her costume resemble an American flag. (And then there's her ability to seemingly produce swords and knives from thin air and at the speed of lightning....)
Keri now travels throughout the United States and the world performing
her patriotically themed magic act and fighting anti-American terrrorists
whereever she can find them. She relies primarily on her well-honed martial
arts skills and her almost unnatural sleight-of-hand abilities, but she
recently acquired a pair of experimental glasses that were stolen from
a government lab by a terrorist sympathizeer. The function as a portable
x-ray machine and metal detection system. One of her growing number of
allies in the intelligence community gave her permisson to keep them if
she promised to provide accurate reports on how well they function. (The
glasses have now replaced the red, white, and blue mask she originally
wore.)
