Nova's Super Sport (SS) coupe and hatchback had a new blackfinished
diamond-mesh pattern grille with 'Nova SS' emblem, plus other black-accented trim.
Styling features included black headlamp bezels and side window frame moldings;
distinctive lower body side striping; Nova SS decals on fenders and rear end panel;
dual black sport mirrors (left remote controlled); horizontal parking lamps with clear
lenses; heavy-duty suspension; and four-spoke sport steering wheel. The $187 SS
coupe package also included roof drip moldings, rally wheels with trim rings, and
heavy- duty F40 front/rear suspension. All told, 7,416 SS Novas came off the line.
