Later on, she grows up and because of Daimon in Prof. Tomoe's body, Hotaru is turned into Mistress 9 to use the holy grail to summon Pharaoh 90, so he can destroy the world. Daimon left Tomoe's body so he could fight the scouts and Prof. Tomoe was freed. After seeing Hotaru possessed by Mistress 9, he tried to fight her. No one could save Hotaru.
Slowly memories came back to Hotaru and she started rising up against Mistress 9 that was inside her. When she came to the peak of her power, the sign of Sailor Saturn appeared on her forehead. She turned into Saturn and Mistress 9 was gone forever.
Sailor Saturn figured that she was the only one that could put back all the evil that was Pharaoh 90 and Mistress 9's doing. The only way was for her to Silence it. There was a huge crater made by Mistress 9 and Saturn had to go in it to put it to rest. Sailor Moon pleeded to her that she shouldn't do it, because she might be killed. Saturn held her Silence Glaive to Sailor Moon and said goodbye...and jumped into the crater.
Sailor Moon was so upset that she tried to follow Saturn, but she was blasted back. She tried to transform into Super Sailor Moon, but the holy grail was destroyed so there was no way she could do it. Then out of nowhere Sailor Moon's crystal appeared and gave her the power to be Super Sailor Moon once again. She jumped into the crater and then all peaceful. Sailor Moon had calmed the evil with the help of Sailor Saturn. But, Sailor Saturn had lost her life.
Super Sailor Moon came out from the crater holding baby Hotaru. She would start her life over, but the Sailor Senshi will need her again later on in the future.

Saturn's History
Sailor Saturn was awoken when in the first episode of Sailor Stars, Pluto goes to Prof. Tomoe to get Hotaru. Hotaru is just a baby and he gives her to Pluto. She is taken back to where Setsuna, Michiru, and Haruka live now. Also, the inner senshi are all 16 years old and are starting all in the same school.
Then Mirchiru and Haruka are attacked at an aqaurium by these weirdo glass girls sent by Nehelenia who has just been revived. They get home safe and find that Hotaru had grown rapidly into a young girl about 4 or 5.
Hotaru continues to grow quickly when in I think the second episode. While she is sleeping one day, her spirit quardian, Sailor Saturn appears and awakens Hotaru. She talks to her and then puts her finger to Hotaru's forehead and give her back all the good memories of her, Chibiusa and the Senshi. She also gives her the bad ones of herself turning into Mistress 9 (as seen in the little animation).
Sailor Satunr leaves and Hotaru comes out of her room to be back to her age that she was before she was Mistress 9, about 12 or 13. She warns the outer senshi of the evil that is coming. She starts to get these visions and...well...I'm not going to tell you the whole story! But that is how she came back to normal.
