Chapter 24
Jessica and Nick walked into Nick’s house, just coming back from the movies theater.  Nick was lucky he didn’t get caught without Rob tonight.   It was a scary movie they saw, Jessica was clinging to Nick’s arm the entire show, and he wasn’t mad one bit.  “After you” Nick said gentlemanly, as he held the front door open. Jessica smiled at him and walked in. It was pitch black everywhere until Nick switched on the faint studio lights that illuminated his living room. “It’s still early,” he said, taking off his light jacket and locking the front door, “what do you want to do?” Jessica thought for a second, “can we go sit on the beach?” Nick smiled, a perfect smile, “sounds great.” He grabbed a blanket and they made their way out the back.

“Um…truth” Jessica said. It was now the wee hours of the morning and Jessica and Nick were just sitting on the beach, listening to the water and talked. “Alrighty…” Nick said, thinking, “are you a virgin?” The two of them were really getting sassy with their questions and answers. Jessica smiled at him, “Yes, I am.” She raised her eyebrow and asked, “are you?” Nick looked at her, and looked back down at the sand, using his finger as a pencil, “can’t say that I am. But let’s just say…I wish…I wish I loved her more. We didn’t click, just slept together.” He looked at Jessica, “I’m sorry, I really shouldn’t be talking about it-”  “Don’t worry, I won’t condemn you, Nick” she said, giving him a reassuring smile, “you’re 21, you have your own life.” Nick smiled. She was too good to him. Nick looked out at the ocean, “oh wow, lookie at that, the Sun’s already rising, Jess. We’ve been out here all night.” Jessica rested her head on his shoulder, “this is nice.” “What is?” he asked, just a tad confused. “This,” she said, looking at him, “You, me, talking next to the ocean, watching the Sun come up together in Florida.” He looked down at her, “this is nice. Just the fact your next to me makes the night all the more better.” He leaned down and gave her a little kiss. After the kiss ended, Nick said, “I want you to know that in my entire life, I’ve never known someone who understood and communicated with me so well.” Jessica smiled, “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say we were best friends our entire lives.” They sat there and starred at one another for a few seconds. God, it sounds like we’re at our wedding, Jessica thought, but I like it so much.  Nick laid, back down on the blanket. He motioned for Jessica to come near him. He put his strong arm around her waist and casually the fell asleep in one another’s arms on the beach.

“Scott, wake up” Sam said as she got dressed. Scott figured that if Sam was Jessica’s best friend, he’d sleep with her and try and piss Jessica off. Sam didn’t mind. She had a crush on Scott since 7th grade, but of course, Jessica always got the guy she wanted. So Sam and Scott ended up sleeping together as soon as they got back to the hotel. “What time is it?” he asked, rubbing his eyes. Sam looked at the clock, “Nine.”  “What are we gonna do today? Look for the bitch?” Scott asked. “Yeah. I think I know where she is too,” Sam said back. She starred at Scott and his non-attempts at getting up, “come on, I want to find them. I want Nick before I leave Florida.”
