THE PARENTS' PAGE:

I'm happy to present this new page, made ultimately for parents, who are often worried, distressed and do not necessarily know "how" to behave around the eating disordered person, what to say, what to do.

This part of my website is dedicated for all the parents out there who have a child suffering from an eating disorder. This is going to be a VERY difficult time for you and one of the most important for you to do it that you seek and find support and understanding that you are looking for.

There are no right or wrong feelings that you may be experiencing right now.

Chances are your feelings and emotions are not so uncommon and natural. As a mother or father, your sole purpose has been to nurture, love and to protect your child since the day they were born. You fill their needs and will do almost anything to safeguard their health and happiness. When your child is in pain whether emotional or physical, a parent's first instinct is to ease that pain and ultimately eliminate it.

Whenever a mother or father feels their child is suffering, she/he is too. It's extremely painful to watch your child, knowing she/he is suffering tremendously... It is, however, even harder when you KNOW there's nothing you can do to take the pain away...
