Today (5/11/01) I had my 3 hour Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT). I told the nurse that if it is abnormal, I would like to know by the end of the day. Well, unfortunately, she called and I have Gestational Diabetes. 3 of the blood samples were high. They say if 2 blood samples are high then it is abnormal but three of mine were abnormal....go figure. I have to go in on the 22nd of May, which is my Birthday by the way, for a Diabetes class and to pick up diabetic supplies. I have gathered some links about Gestational Diabetes for those who have it or are interested in learning more about it. |
