TAJATONWI TIBETAN SPANIELS

My hobby is breeding and showing Tibetan Spaniels. I have five at the present time; three bitches and two dogs.

My oldest one is now 11, and has now been shown at Crufts for the last time. She won a second in the Veteran Bitch class, so at least she went out on a high! She is still the most successful of my dogs, being the only one to win a challenge certificate so far. Her son is now 7 and her daughter is 5. Her grand-daughter is 2. My other dog is a parti coloured boy that I bought in. He is now 21/2 years old.

I am also a judge of Tibetan Spaniels at open show level. I have judged Kingston Society at Ardingly in Sussex and Northwich Society at Winsford, Cheshire this year. I was lucky to get my judging appointments in before the Foot and Mouth crisis struck; literally a couple of days later. Of course, there has been a dearth of shows since then, though the situation has been better since the middle of May. Personally, I am having a bit of a break from shows this year as we are concentrating on altering our garden. However I will be going to a few, especially later in the season. I also hope to breed a litter, not having had one for five years.

I have included some photographs of my present dogs with their names.

As you can see, they are a bunch of characters! Sharing our home with Tibbies is a real eye-opener; they have taken over completely. Although I have had other dogs, notably collies and a Dobermann, I remain faithful to these little people.

One word of warning: Tibbies are ADDICTIVE!

(You can never have just ONE!)
