Within the Park are a variety of habitats that support a diverse wildlife.
On and around the loch, grebes, coots, ducks and moorhens can be readily seen nesting during the summer. In winter migratory birds such as geese, teal, wigeon may be seen.
Observant visitors will see and hear woodland birds such as green woodpeckers, tree creepers and crossbill as they flit among the trees in their quest for food and shelter.
The woodlands are also home to red squirrels, roe deer and foxes as well as supporting many species of wild flowers and fungi.
The water plants, minibeasts and microscopic life are features of the hidden world which you can study and enjoy throughout the year as each season has its special attractions.
