The Mission of the Club
The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Welcome to the Speaking Scooby, a NEW Toastmaster's club that has been started by UCR students. and is held at the University of California, Riverside. Meetings are going to be held at the  Bannockburn in room I-105 (PRINCETON REVIEW near Getaway Cafe) @ UC Riverside from 6:30 -7:30 PM sharp every  Monday. Come before or after your class if there is a time conflict. It is a pleasure to have you visit this website. Come back again soon. I hope it may be beneficial to you and to our club. It was founded on October of 2000.We would like everyone's feedback because your opinion counts and it means a lot to us and we want to have a very special experience at Toastmasters. Please give us your ideas because the more creative the meetings the more fun and interesting they will become.
A toastmaster's meeting consists of united individuals who take time out of their busy schedule to commit time to better improve oneself so he or she may prosper in the real world and serve their community. There are prepared speeches and table topics, which are spontaneous speeches members give when asked a question. All the speeches are timed, evaluated, and applauded. It is the love and sincerity of the group, and the magic of being a toastmaster, that brings back the old members, and pours in with new welcomed guests. I hope you all enjoy your experience with toastmaster's, may you achieve your dreams and goals, and may your weaknesses tranform into your strenghths. I know this will be a good year. If there are any questions you may have, feel free to contact me.
