The road to CJ involved much more than just fundraising. The patrol of 7 Scouts going to the Jamboree had to get to really know each other, and learn how to work as a team. To that end, we held the first of our "CJ Prep Camps" on the weekend of March 23-25, 2001 in the old Adirondack at Camp Manitou. In the tradition of the "Great Blizzard Camp of '99" it again snowed, with blowing snow leading to an interesting breakfast cereal topping for Scouter Bill. While Will and Nick constructed a shelter for an overnight stay, the rest of the crew hiked down to Kilbride and back along the Bruce Trail. We were back to fundraising the next week as CJ Parents and Scouts manned the grill at the Ultra Supermarket on Fairview.
