SOAP ON A ROPE (soaprope) crochetpartners.com
Materials:
1/2 skein sugar and cream ww cotton yarn
Size F crochet hook
Gauge: 4 sc = 1"; 2 dc rows = 1"
Designer's Note: This will be a tight fit but since the soap will
get smaller as it is used, I didn't want to make it to fit
loosely. This fits a 4.5 oz. Ivory bath bar.
Directions:
Chain 9. 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc across to last ch. 3 sc in
last ch. Working on opposite side of foundation, sc in each ch.
Join to first sc. (18 sc)
Rnd. 1: Ch 4(counts as 1st dc and ch 1). *Skip next sc. Dc, ch 1
in next sc. Repeat from * 3 times. (Dc, ch 1 in next st)twice.
*Skip next sc. Dc, ch 1 in next sc. Repeat from * around to end.
Join in 3rd ch of beginning dc. (11 dc plus 11 ch 1 spaces)
Rnd 2: Ch 4, Dc, ch 1 in next Dc. Repeat around and join.
Rnd 3-7: Repeat Rnd 2.

Rnd 9: Ch 3, Dc in each sc around; join.
Edging: sc in first dc. *ch 3, sc in next dc. Repeat from *
around. join and fasten off. (You can also do a shell stitch
edging or for a man, I often either just sc or reverse sc.).
Drawstring: Ch 85; fasten off. Weave ends back through 4 or 5
chs. Tie each end in a knot. Cut off end of yarn that you weaved
through the ch. Weave ch through dc on Rnd 9. Place soap in bag.
Tie chain and pull up tight(do not make a knot. You want to be
able to loosen the chain to replace the soap). Tie the very ends
in a knot to make hanging loop.

nylon tulle puff (nylontulle) pricillas
Nylon
Tulle Bath Puff
by Priscilla Hewitt ©2000
Faster drying than cotton, these bath puffs are a little
rougher...good for
sloughing winter skin!
Materials:
2 yards nylon tulle cut into 3/4 strips (see note)
Crochet hook size K
Note: I used the tulle that comes on a cardboard tube. Its
6 wide x 25 yards long, so there's only 4 strips that need
to be tied together. (Its usually found in the bridal
department of craft stores.) I marked eight 3/4 strips (7
cut lines) and cut them with a utility knife while the tulle was
still on the tube. One of these rolls of tulle is enough to
complete 2 bath puffs. You can also use tulle bought by the yard,
then folded evenly and cut into strips. Tie the strips together
with a knot...the slit-joining method used for fabric
doesnt work for tulle because it tears easily.
Tie the tulle strips together and roll into a ball (or work off
the tube.)
Ch 4, join with a sl st to form ring.
Round 1: (Sc, ch 3) 35 times in the ring; ch 35, sc in ring; join
with a sl st
to the first sc.
Round 2: Sl st into the first ch 3 sp, ch 4 to count as the first
dc and the first ch 1,
(dc, ch 1) 4 more times in the same ch 3 sp, (dc, ch 1) 5 times
in each remaining
ch 3 sp around; sl st in each of the 35 ch's; join with a sl st
to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 3.
Round 3: Sl st into the first ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in the same sp,
(ch 3, sc in
the next ch 1 sp) around, ending with ch 3, join with a sl st in
the first sc.
Round 4: Sl st into the first ch 3 sp, ch 1, sc in the same sp,
ch 3, sc in the
same sp, (sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch 3 sp around; join with a sl st
to the first
sc. Fasten off. Re-knot ends, and trim tulle about 1/4 from
each knot.
