Title: Of shoes and Ships and Sealing Wax Rating: R to NC17 Pairing: lots, read and see Warning" Angst, happiness, love, gayness, lemon scenes, death...
Kris’s POV No specific year, but let’s say the month is January, hm…December 12 was when Kris conceived, near future I guess
People claim I have an eternal smile on my face, I guess I do, but they never know why. I know the reason why, he’s laying next to me right now, one arm draped across my waist, and his left hand twined in my hair. He has his face pressed against my neck and his warm breath his blowing across my chest. My arms are around his shoulders, and my legs are entangled with his, and right now, I’m more than content to lay here forever. He’s the reason for this everlasting grin that people talk about, and I hope to God he knows it. We just finished having incredible sex a few hours ago, he fell asleep, but I can’t, I’d love to stay up all night and watch him, he’s too perfect for me. It’s one thirty in the morning, and his dark curly hair is brushing against my chin, it’s soft, like silk, and something about his very presence fills me with a deep sense of pleasure. I’m never able to put these emotions into words though. His breathing is deep and soft, and every time he inhales, his chest rises and presses against mine. Now that I lay here with him, I have to say, my life is beyond perfect, my life is a dream. With this thought to drift off to, I’m falling into a deep dreamless sleep.

Darren’s POV
When I wake up I feel soft arms pressing against my shoulders, legs caught in mine, and my cheek is pressed against soft skin. I can’t help but grin, there’s absolutely no better way to wake up. I realize one of my hands is resting on his head, and my other hand is resting against his back. I don’t want to move out of this embrace, ever, in fact, if I could lay like this forever, I’d die completely content, but my bladder is having a different opinion, so it’s out of bed for me. The minute I’m out of his arms, I’m shivering, I rush to the bathroom and urinate quickly, still shivering, anxious to get back to bed. When I return to the large queen sized bed, Kris is awake, and looking at me with warm green/blue eyes. I shiver again and crawl back into the bed, pulling the quilt over myself. He snuggles up to me and I wrap my body around him, content. He yawns, and I ruffle his hair. “G’Morn.” He murmurs. I kiss him briefly, just an affectionate kiss, but it still sends shivers up my body, and then I pull away to yawn as well. “Morning.” He rests his head against my chest, closing his eyes. “What time is it?” I struggle to look at the digital clock, and just barely make it out. “Ehhh…ten.” He sighs and rolls onto his back, pulling away from me and robbing me of his warmth. His face is pouty, almost sad. “You have to go…” I sigh as well, I do, Cheryl wants me home, Griffen and Emerson haven’t seen me in two days, the last game we had was out of town, Kris’s wife decided to take the kids on a trip for a few months, I guess for about ten, or eleven. It’s just because we have so many away games, she didn’t want to be home alone all the time, and I know Kris is lonely. He didn’t mind her going, was even a little relieved, but he needs company, and I couldn’t give it to him. “I’m sorry…” I murmur before running one hand up his stomach to rest on his chest. He smiles up at me again. “Why don’t you come back over tonight? We can watch a movie together.” That idea sounds fine to me, Cheryl shouldn’t mind. “Sure.” He grins and kisses me on the lips. I smile into the kiss and hold him close for a few moments, then let go. “I should get dressed.”
January 21
Kris’s POV
When I woke up this morning I didn’t feel right. I wasn’t sick or anything, I just…felt different, like something about me had changed. I told myself I was being silly and took a shower, and completely forgot about it. There’s no practice today, or tomorrow either, though we were supposed to have a game in three days, Dave is giving us all a small break. Darren promised he’d come over. Now I’m sitting and watching a rerun of Invader Zim, a show Kennidi loves, and waiting for Darren to either call, or show up. It’s cold outside, something like 20 degrees, maybe 15, but I started a fire after I got out of the shower, and the heat’s turned on, so the house is rather warm. None the less, I’m wrapped in a blanket on the couch, drinking a cup of coffee heavily laced with Irish cream flavoring. The first episode of Invader Zim ends, and it goes on to the next episode, titled “Parent-Teacher night” I settle back against the couch, preparing to be weirded out, when there’s a knock on my front door. I know it could only be Darren, maybe Kirk, but it’s most likely Darren, nevertheless, I go to the door and call out. “Who is it?” I hear a grunt on the other side of the door and Darren’s voice comes through the hard wood door. “Damn it Drapes, let me in.” I feel a smile nearly split my face as I open the door. A blast of cold air hits me full force in the face and I step back, making way to let Darren in. He’s beautiful, his cheeks are red from the cold, and there’s snowflakes clinging to his curly hair and eyelashes. He’s bundled up in a thick wool coat, and he has a red scarf tied around his neck, the tip of his nose is pink. He unwraps himself from this coat and scarf and hangs both items in the hall closet. When he’s finished he turns to me and takes me in his arms, pulling me into a kiss, his lips are cold, his cheeks too, his hands are cold, he wasn’t wearing gloves, but his chest is warm, and I press against it. He pulls out of the kiss and I smile at him. “You’re cold Dare.” My voice is soft, and not teasing, just telling the truth. He gives me his predatory shark grin that makes my knees weaken, and shrugs. “I guess you’ll just have to warm me up eh Kris?” I feel my cheeks go pink at his words, but I’m also getting excited, he has that affect on me. He sweeps me up into another kiss and we stumble into the living room. The television is still on, and the blanket I had been cuddling up in now lay on the floor, disregarded. His tongue is running along my lower lip, and his hands are making their way up under my shirt. I feel myself shiver and he deepens the kiss, his cheeks and lips aren’t so cold now, and his cool hands are warming up against my skin. I manage to pull out of the kiss for a moment, taking a deep breath of air. He smiles and moves to kiss along my neck, making a soft moan pass my lips. Suddenly his lips are gone, I open my eyes to see him laying the blanket out in front of the fire place, he stands up, gives me a quick smile, and turns off the television as Zim’s robot father says “That was my squeezing arm.” I shake my head and Darren takes me in his arms, pushing me slowly to the floor on the blanket. “I love you.” I murmur, and I mean it. He seems to know this, and before he begins to remove my clothing he kisses me gently on the forehead. “I love you too.”
Darren’s POV
I couldn’t help myself, I came over here to just be with my small lover, maybe watch a movie, talk or make dinner with him, but the moment I saw him, his hair wet from a shower, and sticking up all spiky, his blue eyes glowing at me with joy, his cheeks pink and warm, I lost control over myself. I had to have him, right then. Now we lay in front of the fire, breathing heavily, his head is resting on my chest, and I’m still suffering from the aftershock of amazing sex, I think he is too. I can’t deny that I still want him, even though I just had him, he’s like a never-ending experience. His small hand is resting at the hollow of my neck, and I reach up and take his hand in mine, kissing the fingers slowly. He looks up at me, for a moment, then hides his face in my chest, letting out a content sounding sigh. The air in the room is heavy, hot, but I’ve never been more comfortable in my life. We lay like this for a while longer, minutes, maybe hours, before Kris sits up and stretches. “We should get dressed, make dinner…can you stay the night?” I can, Cheryl knows about Kris and I, and she claims as long as it’s not another woman, it’s fine with her. Weird logic, anyhow, I can stay the night. “Yeah.” His face brightens with a smile that could blind the sun, and he climbs to his feet, gathering his clothing. “Great.” He looks down at himself. “I’m going to take another shower.” I stand up as well, this sounds inviting. “Me too.” To be continued.........
