The Ailerons
The parts of an aircraft.
 
            This diagram shows the wing of an aircraft. The ailerons is situated near the tips of the
wing. The ailerons coordinate turns of an aircraft. The movement of turn is known as
banking.The pilot uses the yoke to turn or bank the aircraft. Now I will explain how the ailerons
work.


    Straight and Level Flight
This diagram shows the position of yoke and the ailerons duing straight and level flight.

Turning Left
This diagram shows the position of yoke and the ailerons when the aircraft banks to the left. The
aileron at the left hand side of the wing is up while the aileron at the right hand side is down.

Turning Right
This diagram shows the position of yoke and the ailerons when the aircraft banks to the right.
The aileron at the left hand side of the wing is down while the aileron at the right hand side is up.
