sitting beside you wishing upon midnight star for you to love me as much as I cherish you but my wish dies on fading star

descending from me is all I ever craved I reach but it falls from the cradle of my hand disintegrating into dust

summer rain falls from dark sky as I walk down lonely roads searching for my soul which has escaped me

night wind blows calmly around us as we say goodbye and walk slowly away in different directions

day fades rapidly as approaching night falls on Ohio river cascading vast shadows over shimmering rippling waters.

encircling winds carry my drifting thoughts I try to grasp them but another rush of wind rips them from me

morning sun wakes me I watch you sleeping and recall that beautiful day when you proposed marriage and when I said yes

I touch your sweet face kiss your cold cheek and caress your soft hair and I ask the angels to watch over you
