CINQUAIN

demons descend upon hollow souls harboring forgotten sins committed long ago _____________________
open bottle of wine I pray you will stay and celebrate my victory, but you leave _____________________
I see my reflection in a broken mirror and witness deterioration of youth _____________________
inside your eyes I see the same pain I suffer I hope our strength can carry us both through _____________________
sorry falls from your lips weighted like a coffin, from you I hopelessly long for release _____________________
|
warm sun graces my face I long for you to call, as shadows fall over dusk I wait _____________________
favors asked of child: walk home with group of friends lock the door, open it only for me _____________________
laying beneath the moon on a blanket of grass counting falling stars and wishing for you _____________________
hoping to reach salvation inside frosted bottle I pray it will offer rescue I lose _____________________
today was near perfect I won a few bucks in the lottery and my divorce was final ___________________
