Riding has been a part of life as far as I can remember. As a very little kid my Dad had a Honda Scrambler and my older brother had a Honda 50. I started late, I was 13 (in 1974) when I started riding friends bikes. I bought my first bike (a 1972 Honda 100) in 1975. Here's the ones I remember, starting with that first one: Honda 100 Yamaha 250 Bultaco 250 Suzuki 500 Yamaha Virago 750 Yamaha XS850 Special Yamaha XS1100 Special Kawasaki 750 LTD Honda Goldwing GL1000 I took a 10 year break from 1995 to 2005 without a bike. In December of 2005 the call of the road was just too strong, I had to get another one. Yamaha XS1100 Kawasaki Nomad 1500 Kawasaki VN2000 Classic LT and now - Honda Goldwing GL1800P My Dad joined the San Jacinto High Rollers Pasadena, Texas Chapter in the mid '70's. A few years later, he was one of the founding members of the Rainbow Riders M/C in La Porte, Texas, which was a "family oriented" club. I rode for many years without being a member of any Riding group or Association. In 2006 I heard about the Patriot Guard Riders and the service they provide to veterans families. It sounded like the best reason to ride with a large group. Since then I have ridden with several Riding Associations, VROC (Vulcan Riders and Owners Club), VRA (Vulcan Riders Association), SCRC (Southern Cruisers Riding Club), and now with the TLRRA (Two Lane Road Riders Association). |
