Key Words::
+ album = album
An album usually contains anywhere from 8-15 songs.
Mini Albums are labeled as albums as well but they usually contain only 4-6
songs.
+ single = single
Usually a Japanese artist will release 2-4 singles before releasing an
album.
The single usually contains 2-4 songs, some of which might be instrumentals.
Usually only 1 song, the main track, will be included in the album while the
rest will not be.
+ ost = original soundtrack
The OST's are the original soundtracks to anime, movies, and dramas.
There are usually a considerable number of tracks in the OST.
Most of the tracks are instrumentals.
+ pv = promotional video / music video
A Japanese artist will for the most part usually put out a pv when they
release a new single.
PV's can only be obtained when bought with the Single or PV Collection DVD.
Otherwise you'll have to settle for watching them on tv, Japanese tv.
+ tv = tv shows either full or partial
The Japanese love having talk shows and they have many shows which feature
Japanese artists.
These shows would include interviews, pvs, and lives.
The shows I have are either the full show or only partial.
+ live = live performances form tv shows or concerts
These files would be just the performances without any interviews or talk.
This does not include the whole concert but maybe only parts of the concert or
only 1 performance.
+ concerts = concerts
Most of the concerts I have are straight from the dvd type of quality.
A lot of the concert dvds usually come with extras, like backstage and those are
listed under Video.
+ video = pv dvd, bonus cds that come w/ concert dvds or albums/singles
Bonus dvds usually come with Type A or B singles and sometimes with albums
as a limited edition promotion.
The videos will usually be backstage, making of, or documentaries of the
band/person.
All Japanese artists will release dvds with their PV collections and this is
where that falls under.
+ misc = interviews and/or commentaries from the internet
Many Japanese artists will promote their new album or single on the
internet.
Yahoo! Japan and Music.net are a couple of the famous sights.
These websites usually don't leave the videos up for more than a month so it is
hard to get a hold of sometimes.
There are some radio shows that video tape their broadcast and these can be
obtained only on their website for about only a week.
These files are very small and the quality isn't so great.
+ img = images
A lot of the Japanese artists, especially pop singers and successful visual
kei groups, will release photo albums.
+ audio = radio shows
Many artists have their own radio shows or make special appearances on radio
shows.
+ cm = commercial
+ mp3 = 1 song
Media

^ VLC = .dat | .iso | .mov | .vob
^ BS Player = .dat | .iso | .mov | .vob
^ Real One = .rm
^ Media Player Classic = .vob
^ WinDVD = .iso | .vob
^ Windows Media Player = .vob
All of these players should be able to play .avi files
Codecs might be needed
File Types::
~ .vob = best quality, dvd rip quality
~ .iso = quality varies
~ .mov = great quality
~ .wmv = gives you screen size of like 400x400pixels
~ .dat = about the same as .wmv, maybe worse
~ .rm = worse file type
~ .avi = good, normal, watchable quality
Anything
Else?::
> All orders will be burnt and sent after I have received payment.
> Please confirm your order with me before paying otherwise I will include a $5
fee for wasting my time. Even if you calculated everything out on your own, I
still need to confirm everything. If you send me money through the mail, the
money is mine. No buts, ands, or ifs.
> If you have any questions feel free to email me at
cjkmusic@yahoo.com.
> I update sporadically and do it when I feel like it. If you would like to be
notified on updates, let me know and I will be glad to email you.
Who am I?::
= I'm Nancy and I do this for fun. I think this is a
great way of sampling music before actually buying. Overseas cds can cost a lot
and I understand the pain of wasting $40 on an album that sucks hard core. This
way, you and I can sample a variety of music for less than $1 a cd. When you
find an artist that you can be passionate about, support them and buy their cds,
dvds, etc.
= There is great joy in owning your own real, authentic cd.
Where to
buy::
! A great place to look for cds is online but be careful because they might be
bootlegs. Might as well buy from me if you buy bootlegs.
! I suggest CDJapan.com and HMV.com for Japanese cds and dvds.
! Another reliable site is YesAsia.com
Bootlegs::
< Bootlegs are fake cds that are made to look like the original and are sold in various
stores, usually anime stores.
< One way to tell if the cd is Bootlegged or not is to look at the quality of
the pictures.
< The best way to tell if the cd is Bootlegged or not is to look at the Item #
which can be found on the spine of the cd case. Check the artist's OFFICIAL
homepage for the Item # before heading out to a store.
< Nothing goes towards the artists when bootlegs are bought.
< Bootleg = HK rip (no offense to Hong Kong)
