      CHILDREN AND ADULTS

TELLABLE TALES
A lively exploration of story and storytelling that uses some well-known FOLK/
FORMULA TALES  to illustrate the SHAPE OF STORY and provide opportunity for
would-be storytellers to find their own TELLABLE TALES and build them around a
BASIC FRAMEWORK.  Participants are taken step by step through a series of
Practical Illustrations and fun excercises that provide opportunity for 'safe'
rehearsal in pairs and/or small groups - and to look at "essence", character, setting
      and theme.

PUPPETS 'N TALES
An interactive session that will illustrate various ways to encourage audience
participation in 'storytelling'.   These will include: the use of echo/refrains; 'tell and
draw''; sound stories and puppets.  Participants will learn how to use basic
paperfolding patterns to make an incredible variety of animal puppets - and practise
using them in a 'group' story.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW
Discover "Something Old, Something New"  in an interactive session of storytelling
that showcases several different genres of story: (e.g. folktales from many lands,
yarn spinning, personal and family stories, myths, legends and fables, historical,
literary and original stories.  Learn group storytelling techniques and participate in
      developing an original story.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM
A goldmine of stories lies close at hand.  Come!  Join an expedition to discover your
'inner story', the 'language' and 'hidden wisdom' that lies within your dreaming and
the power these have to open you to dormant creative energies.  Share a walk to
nourish your imagination and release creative energy.
