CONFERENZA ALEF Teoria della conoscenza e naturalizzazione* Nicla Vassallo Dip. di Filosofia, via Balbi 4, 16126 Genova, e-mail: nicla@nous.unige.it Abstract Oggi molto in voga, il naturalismo gnoseologico o epistemologico, si oppone alla tradizione e solleva avvincenti discussioni. I suoi sostenitori di punta, Quine e Goldman, intendono presentare due diversi modi di procedere verso la naturalizzazione: il primo É radicale, il secondo É moderato. Entrambi condividono perÔ uno psicologismo e un individualismo che costituiscono un ostacolo rispetto ai loro progetti. Risulta, inoltre, evidente che Quine, per quanto naturalista, non riesce a proporre una vera e propria epistemologia, mentre Goldman, per quanto epistemologo, non É in grado di concretizzare una sincera naturalizzazione. Ad ogni modo, la via verso quest'ultima non puÔ che risultare moderata. Questo a meno di non travisare il significato tradizionale del termine ``epistemologia''.
