Our small farm is nestled amongst the hills in the beautiful Independence Valley located in Southwest Washington State. Check out pictures of our horses on some of the other pages: Stallion, Broodmares, Foals, & Trouble. In our small breeding program we are always learning and making changes. We seek out mares that not only have the conformation we desire, but have proven their athletic abilities and longevity. In addition to the traits foals inherit genetically, foals learn by example; therefore a
tractable disposition and good manners are crucial in a broodmare. We try to raise our foals in as natural an environment as possible. Even though they are foaled in a stall, and spend most nights inside, they have regular turnout in the pastures, and are socialized with other horses. We believe it is as necessary for the babies to have their time as babies as it is for them to learn all the essential manners. However, we firmly believe in good manners. From the time they are born, the foals are led to and from the stable with their mothers, and handled daily.  We consider all our horses part of the family, and this is why disposition is a priority for us whether choosing a horse for riding or breeding. The horses we raise are athletes bred for competition, but are also safe and gentle enough to be family riding horses. Although we have a small breeding program, we have fun with the horses and spend much of our time riding in the hills, on the beach, or camping. Our training is adjusted to suit each horse's individual needs and personality. However, the one thing that is consistent no matter what, is the gentle approach we use with all of them. We allow and encourage individuality, but we also expect respect. We know the best way to ensure our horses have bright futures is to teach them to be kind and mannerly.
