FOR STEVE GOUGH
This was originally the brainchild of a young true naturist called Matt under the aegis of "SUSSEX NAKED WALKS". And why not, seeing that we inhabit and frequent one of the most beautiful counties in Britain (strike that; ...Europe)

For the main part the walking groups were made up of Matt, joint sat-navver Bob (who made his way from London for each hike) and myself.
Here is a slideshow of our best moments in six years of Sussex Naked Ramblers to whet your appetite for the main stories and albums following.

Sussex Naked Walks

This is how it started as Matt & Bob arranged some cool naked walks in my home county. Here is the first SNR from Falmer to Balmer, near Lewes in 2008!

We covered much the same route again in 2009!

Sussex naked walks petered out in 2009 after two years, as there were no new participants to join us, and the naturists handed nature back to the world of unnatural fibres.

From then onwards, as you will see elsewhere on this site, I myself took up walking Sussex clothes-free alone until group naked walking was catalysed again in 2012 by my good friend Richard Collins, who moved back to Sussex and joined me on my hiking ventures

The walks were over the Spring to attract other keen naturists in the forms of Bernard Boase, Roger Coupe, Chris Lamb and Geoff Maynard, and we are optimistic of recruiting more in the coming years.

So in February, Richard and I were walking (fully-clothed) over the world famous scenic attraction, Seven Sisters, east of Seaford, when we stripped to take lunch naked, subtly, by the edge of the cliff. After repast, I rose to dress and Richard suggested that I stay naked. I made a Double Dare, replying that I would if he did, so we completed the walk to Birling Gap and back to Cuckmere Haven clothes-free

.......and SUSSEX NAKED RAMBLERS was born, in deference to our support for Steve Gough's campaign for naked freedom.

....and the show started; please take your seats:-
Double Dare

Walked this weekend with Richard Collins. He built up my courage2 walk the seven Sisters and back naked with dozens of people about . My fears were dispelled as only 1 person made a skank comment against several poz greetings from others. And even she laughed when I responded!
I think maybe most people R cool with nudity long as it's in a natural environment, like the countryside. U just don't flash your way thru Marks n Sparks or the town square that's all!

The Dean & I - March Madness
FristonForest; LongMan; Alfriston; Cuckmere; Exceat. We stripped 4the Forest. Never dressed again till our return, except Alfriston. Met many clothed people; all gave greetings, even chatted; not 1 objection. 100% approval of naked walkers by all!

The Dean & I - A most august effort
The third Dean'n'I happened later on in the summer, as the hot spell arrived in Month 8. Geoff Maynard, Richard Collins and I did much the usual route via the Long Man and the Cuckmere River, but Geoff & I took in the Seven Sisters, Birling Gap and Cuckmere Haven.
This was one of our many walks where other (dressed) walkers engage with us with total acceptance. Two pictures here ahow us with a couple who happily walked with us for a while without any issue and were, most positively, volunteered for a photo with Richard and me, taken by Geoff.

For the Rambler
An August walk by Chris, Richard and me in support of Steve Gough who had just been re-arrested by
uneducated, sexually-paranoid mindsets after release from 6 years imprisonment for being normal.

I have paired off photos of our randonnue with similar web pictures of Steve on his campaign walks.

A Pastorale for Quintet
This trek at the end of August 2012 was our biggest turnout yet, with Richard, Bernard, Roger, Chris and me making five in all. We "5live" started by stripping off at the Hastings Country Park in Hastings and walking via Fairlight Glen across country to the Queen's Head in Icklesham, a routemarch of about 8 miles.

Wot Winter Woollies?
How grit is outdoors, public and naked among tourists in mid-November??? 11th and 18th, 10ÂșC both Sundays, and.... I walked several miles naked, exposed to sea breezes.
It didn't seem that cold, but then I'm a tough SOB!! Meanwhile, erstwhile ardent naturist Richard, evermore nesh, wrapped his aching bones in layers of clothing.
Anyone else with balls of steel (yeh, geddit?) is welcome 2 join me n Richard on winter walks and, in time, feature in the winterpix in this album!

A well hilarious moment took up!
A couple said, "hi!" while Richard was dressing.
I said, "It's too cold for him!"
The dude's reply, as sharp as U like, was,

"Looks like it's too cold 4U too!"

OUCH!
PMPLMFAO!
Awesome!

The Devil's Hyke
It had been a long time since I had gone west. Richard is an avid nudewalker, but seems a bit xenophobic about trusting the world beyond his inner circle of East Sussex.!

Scott however ventures far and wide by nature. He is a proto-photomaker of the highest calibre. So I called him up with an idea for a walk from Patcham in Brighton, through the Devil's Dyke, one of Sussex's most popular inland beautyspots, across the downs to the River Adur, to finish in the Red Lion in Shoreham for dinner.

We never made dinner but we did finish at the pub, completing a course of some 10-11 miles. We passed many people along the way and Scott was at first reticent about remaining au naturel in their presence. But the exhilarating freedom of the banks of the Adur broke the shackles and he was walking true to nature almost to the end.
