| Pageantry has been a part of my life since 1994, when I was in the fourth grade. Early in the school year, my counselor handed out information regarding the "Miss Ohio National Pre-Teen Pageant." A friend and I decided to sign-up. After a few weeks of phone calls and sending/receiving information, I was named a finalist in that year's pageant. Unfortunately, my friend was unable to attend. Going on ahead, that next summer, I competed in my first pageant. What a blast I had! Now, ten years later, I cannot even count the number of pageants I have participated in. I have had the opportunity to compete on the local, state, and national level. States I have visited due to pageantry include: Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, California, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, and Minnesota. I am now happily married. I have taken a break from pageantry, focusing on my family and work. However, I try to keep up-to-date with the world of pageants through forums and by talking with old pageant friends. One day, I hope to get back into the pageant world through coaching and/or having a pageant daughter of my own. |
