Introduction
B't X, transliterated as Beat-X in Japanese, is one of the later works of Masami Kurumada, who has also brought to the world the well-known Saint Seiya.  The manga was published between 1994 and 2000 and consists of 16 volumes.

Manga
In an objective evaluation, the manga has a commendable plot and touching sub-plots that branch off the main storyline.  The art style resembles that of Saint Seiya: proportions and perspective are not particularly the strong points, but the character design makes it up.  Compared to the anime adaptation, the manga has a much more suitable and logical ending.

Anime
The anime adaptation of the series consists of 25 episodes and 13 episodes of the OVA called B't X Neo.  Unfortunately, the series was not very successful.  In my opinion, one of the main causes was the constant change of style of the characters.  Nevertheless, the background music is wonderfully done and in most cases the anime looks much more appealing than the manga.  The anime also features some new characters.
