The Nursery
Finally, after a looong wait and lots of impatience, I found my first clutch last October 13, 2007.  I had missed it during water change, and sprayed the area with a hose so I was afraid the babies drowned.  I was so excited, I didn't think twice about picking it off from the glass and messed up handling it afterwards (dropping it in the water, etc.).  Because of these, plus the fact that many first clutches are not fertile, I didn't get my hopes up--but to my surprise, it hatched after about 10 days!  Babies were no bigger than a grain of rock salt.  Others have since hatched, too, and now I've got a gazillon babies!
Not quite ready to leave the comfort of the egg yet...
Race ya to the water!

How tiny are these newborns?  Use the toothpicks in some photos above for comparison.  The spots on some of their shells are practically impossible to see with the naked eye (thank god for macro mode).
A couple of weeks older
The colors started coming out.
Neon orange eyerings and spots in the photos above and below
No bigger than fleas!
Can you guess what colors they'll be when they grow up?
More pics of them a little older here:
