About Our Snails
Pomacea bridgesii (also known as mystery snails) is a species of apple snails that does not eat live plants.  Brigs grow to about the size of a golf ball and come in various colors, such as ivory, gold, blue, dark striped purple, striped purple/magenta, chestnut, light striped purple, olive and jade.  Colors are determined not only by their shells, but also by whether their bodies and feet are light or dark.  They are not hermaphrodites; rather, there are males and females.  Females lay their eggs outside the water, and eggs can be easily removed and humanely destroyed to keep population under control.
Brigs have a "siphon" to help them breathe
