The family grocery store
The following is from Laura Burton.
We were just renting the little store. All we paid was $500 for the inventory.
We sold it so I could go with (Dad -grandpa.) We bought a 40 ft.trailer and move to Farmington for our first stop. Sue went to four different schools that year. I think we lived at ever little town in Northern New Mexico. It wasnt a lot of work.I just had to be there seven days a week.
We sold it to the guy that delivered our bread. He didn't run it long. they finelly torn it down.We traded it for a house in Albuquerque .Then we traded it for Water Canyon. Sue graduated from High School in Magdalena. Her and Ollie wanted to get married, but I told them she had to graduate before I would let her. But they went ahead & got married anyway. But she did graduate.Then we traded it for a Motel in T or C free and clear .Then we borrowed the money to build the Trail Motel.Then we traded both of them for the big Motel in Burlington.
