Transgender and Catholic

Are you a Catholic who struggles with a gender identity opposite from your biological sex? Are you sick of websites that mostly cater to Protestants by focusing so much on the Bible and giving nothing but quotes from Scripture you can use for your next verse-slinging? Do organizations like DignityUSA that want to do away with certain teachings of the Catholic Church leave you cold?

Then you've come to the right place! I have a male body and a female gender identity, and I am a conservative Catholic. We're actually in good company; Pope Paul II, who was pope from 1464 to 1471, is known to have worn women's clothes, and nicknamed "Our Lady of Pity." In addition, 25 medieval saints were thought to be male until they died and were found to be biologically female (and they were canonized anyway!)--and St. Joan of Arc is suspected to have been a man in a woman's body. An Open Letter to Dr. Laura I'm actually a fan of Dr. Laura Schlessinger, but she said that the reason she's against homosexuality is because it's written in Leviticus (the same book that contains the kosher laws). Take this to your next verse-slinging. It shows just how little sense it makes to pick verses out of the Bible to support a cause.

Bizarre Transsexual Wedding in Mexico A male-to-female transsexual and a female-to-male transsexual in Mexico have married each other in spite of the Church being against this.

If God Is Good A review of the book by Randy Alcorn. If you've ever wondered how a loving God can allow suffering, you must read this book.

The Next Sexual Rights Movement Many transgender people dismiss the Catholic faith on the grounds of its teachings about sexuality. This article is about the movement to legitimize human/animal sexual relationships, and while we may (understandably) be disgusted by the idea, the scary part is, if we accept devations from Catholic sexual teaching (birth control, gay sex, "sex change" surgery), how can we say no to the zoophiles?

Original Creation: The Story of Darrell Thompson The story of someone who was born male, transitioned to female, came to Christ, and has been living as a man since. You can see his picture here.

This transgender Catholic site is part of the transgender website Boy On The Outside, Girl On The Inside, for transgender people who choose not to alter their bodies. Even if you're not transgender, take a look; you might learn something. My site has saved five people from the mortal sin of transition.
