Prepare a 9” pieplate with crust. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. In a medium bowl combine apples, jam, sugar, and raisins and toss to coat. Pour into prepared pie crust, and dot with butter pieces. Cover with other pastry crust folding edges under and fluting edges. Prick the top shell with fork to allow steam to escape. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with a bit of sugar.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cool to room temperature before serving.
