Chocolate Bread Pudding

 

Ingredients:

Heavy Cream

Bittersweet Chocolate, Chopped

Large Eggs, Beaten

Slices Bread, Cubed

Directions:

Place oven rack in middle position of oven and preheat to 350F. Generously grease a 2 quart baking dish or four 8 oz ramekins.

Mix together the butter, cream, chocolate, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne, and a pinch of salt in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in egg until combined. Fold in bread cubes and let stand 5 minutes.

Fill the baking dish or ramekins and bake until puffed and set around edges but still moist in center about 20-30 minutes. Let cool before serving if desired with vanilla ice cream.
