Nutty Clusters

 

Ingredients:

Unsweetened Chocolate (2 Squares)

Butter, Softened

Sugar

Buttermilk

Mixed Salted Nuts, Chopped

 

 

 

Chocolate Icing:

2

Ounces

Unsweetened Chocolate (2 Squares)

Butter

Confectioners Sugar

Water Or Rum

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or leave ungreased.

Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over boiling water. Remove from heat; cool. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg melted chocolate, buttermilk and vanilla until light. Stir in flour, baking soda and nuts. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 apart onto cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched. Remove to wire racks to cool.

While cookies are baking prepare the chocolate icing: Melt chocolate and butter in small saucepan over low heat, stirring until completely melted. Add powdered sugar and water or rum, mixing until smooth. Add more water or rum if needed to make spreadable. Frost the warm cookies using a pastry brush or spoon back.
