Molasses Crinkles

 

Ingredients:

Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed

Sanding Or Granulated Sugar For Dusting Cookies

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375F.

Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves and salt in a small bowl until combined.

Beat together shortening, butter and brown sugar in a large bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, beating until combined. Reduce speed to low, mix in the flour mixture until combined.

Roll 1 heaping teaspoon of dough into a 1 ball, dip top into sanding sugar, and set on an ungreased baking sheet, 2 apart. Repeat with all the cookie dough. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 1-2 minutes before removing to wire racks to finish cooling.
