Gourmet Brownies

Confectioners Sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325F. Generously grease a 8 square pan.

In a double boiler over simmering water melt 3 squares of chocolate with the butter. Cool slightly. In a large bowl together the eggs, sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoons of vanilla, and salt. Stir in the chocolate mixture, then the flour. Fold in the walnuts. Turn into prepared pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until set. Spoon the jam over the hot brownies and spread carefully. Let cool.

In a saucepan, over low heat, melt 1 square chocolate. Blend in 2 tablespoons butter and light corn syrup. Stir in the confectioners sugar, milk and 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and mix well. Spread over the brownies. Let set before cutting.
