Gilded Fudge Cookies

 

Ingredients:

Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Butter, Softened

Sugar

Dash Salt

Pecans Or Walnuts, Coarsely Chopped

 

 

 

Fudge Frosting:

1

Ounce

Semisweet Chocolate (1 Square)

Heavy Cream

Cup

Confectioners Sugar

Tsp

Vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.

Melt chocolate chips in top of double boiler over boiling water, Remove from heat; cool.

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in melted chocolate. Gradually add in flour and salt, mixing until smooth. Stir in nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until slightly firm. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheets before removing to wire racks to finish cooling.

While cookies bake, prepare Fudge Frosting: Melt Chocolate with cream in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until chocolate completely melts. Remove from heat; beat in confectioners sugar and vanilla. Spread over cookies while frosting is still warm.
