Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie



1/2 Cup Butter, Softened

1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, Packed

3/4 Cup Sugar

2 Large Eggs

1-1/2 Tsp Vanilla

1/4 Cup Sour Cream

2-1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour

1 Tsp Baking Powder

1/2 Tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Tsp Salt

1 Pkg Chocolate Chunks, 11.5 Ounces

1 Cup Pecans Or Walnuts, Chopped

Optional: 1 Cup Raisins Or Dried Cranberries


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper; set aside

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugars on low speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Beat on medium-high for 2 minutes.

Stir in four, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add chocolate chunks and nuts, and if using raisins or cranberries. Mix until combined

Use 1/4-cup measure or a medium sized ice cream scoop and fill to heaping. Place 6 balls of dough 3 inches apart on each prepared baking sheet.

Place baking sheets on center racks in oven. Bake 14-16 minutes switching the cookie sheets, top and bottom, halfway thru.

Cool cookies on baking sheets before removing them with a spatula to wire racks to finish cooking.
