Cranberry Filled Pastries

Ingredients:

Dried cranberries or raisins

Hot water

1-1/2

Cup

Ground walnuts or pecans

Cup

Sugar

1-1/2

Teaspoon

Cinnamon

Orange zest

Packages cream cheese

Butter, softened

All-purpose flour

 

 

Sifted powdered sugar

Directions:

Combine raisins or cranberries and water let stand for 15 minutes. Drain the fruit and add the ground nuts, sugar, cinnamon and orange zest. Mix well. Set aside

Combine cream cheese and butter in a large bowl and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add flour and mix well. Divide dough into fourths. Roll out one portion in a 12 x 9 rectangle on a surface sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar. Cut into 12 (3) squares. Spoon about 2 teaspoons filling onto each square, leaving a margin. Roll squares jelly roll style and place seam side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake on 375 for 20-22 min or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks, Repeat procedure with remaining dough and filling.
