Chocolate Chocolate Drops

 

Ingredients:

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks

Dried Cherries, Raisins, Or Cranberries (Optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or grease well.

Place the butter, the chopped unsweetened and semisweet chocolates in a medium microwave bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes, stir, and then microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes until melted and smooth.

In a large bowl, mix together the light brown sugar, vanilla, the butter chocolate mixture and the granulated sugar. Add the eggs ad buttermilk and beat until thick and glossy.

In a small bowl mix together the flour, cocoa, cinnamon and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the brown sugar chocolate mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in chocolate chunks and if using the dried fruit.

Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets two inches apart. Bake until cookies set but are soft and fudgy on the inside, 12-15 minutes. Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to finish cooling.
