Birch Log Cookies

Ingredients:

Almond Bark or White Chocolate

Bittersweet Chocolate, Melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400F. Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, combine sugar and butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add milk, vanilla and egg; beat well. Add flour, baking powder and cinnamon; mix well.

Shape dough into 1 balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll balls into 6 logs. Place on prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 5-8 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Melt the almond bark or white chocolate in the microwave in a glass pie plate or shallow microwave dish. Microwave on medium for 20 seconds, stir and microwave for another 20 seconds, stirring until smooth. Dip logs into chocolate coating; rolling to coat; place on waxed paper to cool. Drizzle using a spoon with bittersweet chocolate to look like bark on a tree.
