Heat oven to 350º. Grease and lightly flour a 10” tube pan.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar and eggs, beat until fluffy and light. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternately with the sour cream, beating after each addition. Stir in orange peel and raisins. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean. Cool 10 min in pan. Remove from pan and set on wire rack.
Combine ¾ cup sugar and orange juice; blend well. Brush hot cake with glaze. Cool.
*Note” lemon peel may be substituted from orange peel and lemon juice for orange juice for a different flavor.
