Baked Alaska Cake

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour two 9 cake pans

Prepare cake according to package directions; pour in to prepared cake pans and bake according to package directions. Cool completely on wire racks.

Chop cup of chocolate morsels, set aside.

Microwave remaining morsels, stirring with a spatual until melted and smooth, about 30-45 seconds.

Beat the cream cheese and the sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in melted chocolate; combine well. Fold 2 cups of the whipped topping and the chopped morsels into the cream cheese mixture.

Place one layer of the cake, top side down, on a serving platter and spread of the filling over it. Top with remaining layer, top side up and spread remaining filling over top and sides of cake to create a smooth surface. Frost entire cake with remaining whipped topping, forming peaks with a spatula. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
