Apple Festival Cake Ingredients:
Directions: Cream butter, ¾ cup brown sugar and ¾ cup
sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in apples,
vanilla and almond extract. Sift together 2-1/2 cup flour, baking powder, salt,
nutmeg and mace, gradually blend into apple mixture. Combine 1 cup walnuts, raisins, and 1
tablespoon flour, and mix into batter. Spoon into a well-greased 9” tube pan.
Combine ¼ cup walnuts and 2 tablespoon brown sugar, sprinkle over batter. Bake in a 325º oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes Remove from oven, set pan on rack and let
cake cool 15 min. Remove cake from pan and set on rack to cool completely.
