Fresh Apple Cake

 

Ingredients:

Vegetable oil

Sugar

Eggs

Flour

Baking soda

Salt

Apples, peeled, and chopped

Vanilla

Cup

Walnuts or pecans, chopped

 

 

 

Topping:

Cup

Brown sugar

Cup

Butter

Cup

Evaporated milk

Directions:

Grease and flour a 8 square pan or 8 cup tube pan.

Cream oil, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, soda and salt; mix together. Add vanilla, apples and nuts; mix by hand. Bake at 325F for 1 hour.

Topping: Mix together the brown sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and pour over cake. Let cool before serving.
