Chocolate Cake with Peanut Chocolate Frosting

 

Ingredients:

2 Cups All Purpose Flour

1-3/4 Cup Sugar

2/3 Cup Baking Cocoa

1-1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

1-1/2 Tsp Baking Soda

˝ Tsp Salt

1 Cup Milk

1 cup Water

˝ Cup Vegetable Oil

2 Large Eggs

2 Tsp Vanilla

 

Frosting:

1-2/3 Cup Peanut Butter And Milk Chocolate Morsels (11 Oz Package)

8 Oz Cream Cheese, Softened

1 Tsp Vanilla

1/8 Tsp Salt

3 Cups Confectioners Sugar

Directions:

 Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Grease and flour two 9” round cake pans

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Add milk, water, oil, eggs and vanilla; blend until moistened. Beat 2 minutes (batter will be thin). Pour into prepared pans. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of morsels over each cake. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to finish cooling completely.

Frosting: Microwave remaining morsels in a small, uncovered, microwaveable bowl on medium-high for 1 minute; stir. If needed to finish melting microwave an additional 10-15 sec stirring until morsels are melted. Beat cream cheese, melted morsels, vanilla extract and salt in a small bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioner’s sugar.

Frost cake with creamy peanut chocolate frosting between layers, the sides and the top.
