Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and lightly flour a 9 round cake pan

Place tea bags in boiling water and steep for 5 minutes. Measure out 1/2 cup of tea in a measuring cup (reserve the rest for glaze).

Mix flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, the cloves, ginger, cardamom and salt; set aside. Beat sugar and butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth and blended. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with cup tea until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack to finish cooling.

Spread Chai glaze over top of cake, allowing some to drizzle down sides of cake. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Chai Glaze: Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in confectioners sugar, tea, vanilla and cinnamon.
