Fawnridge Collies started in early 1985. My mentor, Will Cugler (Bronson Collies) taught me all he knew.
I listened to everything he said. Will sold me my  foundation girl  "Fawnridges Lookin' For trouble"
She was out of CH. Bronson's Palery Genesis x Topper's Count Me In.
Many of you remember "Trouble", she was pointed and gave me many beautiful offspring. She was also taken to Chicago and photographed with litter for an audition that was to be a commercial for dog food. That was fun! For the first five years, everytime I went into the ring, I developed "butterflies."
I finally got over that feeling and finished a few dogs and pointed many more since.
Tammy Mercer (Carealot Collies) and myself were out just about every weekend and winning!
In 1997 my husband and I moved to Arkansas, we just recently purchased 15 acres of beautiful land outside of Conway, Ar. After loosing CH Fawnridges Windwalker in August of 2000 it threw us for awhile.
I thought I could not do this anymore, but now I'm back!

Back To Fawnridge Collies
Our collies are the exception! There are breeders out there who breed merely for pets.
There are those who breed merely for show. Some breed their dogs for the money they can recieve.
I breed my dogs because I love them. I love collies as some would love their own children.
To me these are my children. Some of my dogs will never be champions and some I will never even show,
but to me they are beautiful just the same. They are the foundation that keeps me grounded.
I have champions. I have pets and I have friends in these dogs. I have boys with soft, sweet expression and a temperment that melts the heart. I have girls with grace and elegance and the ability to play as if they
were still pups. My collies have heart and know they are well-Ioved.
They will never go to a home where they will be abused or unloved. I would rather have kennels full
of dogs that I don't show than to have them in a home where they are not properly cared for.
Just ask my husband...he says I treat the dogs better than him...ha ha. It has been a long road to get
where I am with my collies, but it has been fun! ! ! There have been times (in the early years) when I wondered how I could afford the food bill, the vet bill, entry fees, etc. But by the grace of God we
found the funds somehow and strived. I also relocated to Arkansas from Illinois. Doing this I lost a lot of contacts and leads on good homes for my collies. That too has been taken care of and I am slowly,
but steadily building up my "Fawnridge Collie" name here in Arkansas. Collies are beautiful show dogs for the "serious" pet owner, but my collies are also loyal companions for anyone in need of love from the
"canine kind". My dogs have gone to families with children, single folk and the elderly.
All walks of life appreciate the gentle-nature that is not only bred into my collies, but learned by them as well.
I do not mean to brag, but as parents do with their children, I cannot help it. I am proud of my dogs!
I am proud of their sweet nature. I am proud of their physical beauty. I am proud of the friendship that they allow me to share with them. Dogs are not only our friends they are our soulmates.
If we "listen" to them we could learn a lot. I "listen" to my dogs and they have not only taught me how to love, but they have taught me the meaning of true frienship and what it is like to look beyond the human world.
I see through my dogs and I love the view!!
Thank you everyone who has helped me along my path in this life with my collies.
I hope future owners of my guys and gals will enjoy them as much as my family and I do!

Sincerely, Jane Hoover
